LISTEN TO THE INFORMALITY STUDY PODCAST
HEVA was selected to represent Kenya’s perspective in a research commission that seeks to explore what is the relationship between the informal economy and the cultural economy in the global south. The outputs of HEVAs participation in this project are a paper titled Analysing the Limitations of Finance in the Informal Sector: A Focus on the Uhuru Market Cluster Group, and a podcast narrated by George Aloo Karanja, Head Researcher at HEVA. You can read more on the paper here and listen to the podcast on the audio file above. The insights shared were gathered from desk research of The Uhuru Market Case Study Report: Action Research Project 2019-2020.
Commissioned by the PEC International Council with the support of the British Council, the paper and podcast are one part of a creative output from 10 countries across the Global South.
