Insights Out Africa Research
Insights Out Africa is a research collaboration between Andani Africa (SA), CcHUB(Nigeria), HEVA (Kenya) and Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy (United Kingdom& Global) supported by British Council. The aim of this project is to furnish policymakers, academics and other relevant stakeholders with new insights into the Cultural and Creative Industries in Africa, to inform their strategy for the arts on the continent.
This collaboration will publish and share findings with other key Cultural and Creative Industries stakeholders in the continent such as academia, sector bodies, public and private sector players, practitioners and consumers of the Cultural and Creative Industries.
Insights Out Africa will generate a step-change in the data, evidence, and knowledge landscape for the African Creative Economy. It will provide dedicated, previously inaccessible insight to inform approaches to policy, partnership, and investment on the continent. It will shine a light on the African Creative Economy in new ways, highlighting opportunities for investment and innovation.
The Research Focus
The research will focus on the investment landscape, gaps, challenges, and opportunities across the African CCIs. The research will be carried out in a phased approach. For 2023-24, we will focus on Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Senegal, along with a regional overview. We will announce the focus countries for the subsequent years. The research will encompass an analysis of opportunities to boost investment and enhance investor readiness across the African creative economy.
Creative and Cultural Industries Research for Africa by Africans,
Insights Out aims to make its research outputs more digestible, accessible, and visible and increase the understanding and use of research to inform policy decisions to unlock new support and opportunities for inclusive growth and innovation.
The findings of the programme will be published in a report(s) as well as through the use of infographics and content made available to various audiences, practitioners, project partners, public and private players.
